Creating a true curved, picture-frame border and stairs using Ipe, the second hardest wood on the planet, took time and patience, but most of all it took experienced and highly trained craftsmen. Steps lead to a similarly-curved paver patio, tying together the repeated architectural element of the curves. The paver colors were chosen to blend seamlessly with the existing stone that wraps around the base of the home. A second paver color was chosen to create the stunning details in this hardscape. A curved seat wall, capped in bluestone, provides plenty of additional outdoor seating around the custom gas fire feature to ensure all are included in this gathering area.
