Recognition for a Local Veteran - Deck Remodelers Request a Design Consultation

Robert Guidi and family of Mine Hill, NJ will be the recipient of a Deck for a Soldier this year. Robert, an Army veteran, was honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant in 1972. Deck For a Soldier® is a program sponsored by The New Jersey Chapter of the North American Deck and Railing Association N.A.D.R.A. This nonprofit organization pair’s private builders and vendors who want to make a difference, in gratitude, to our military families. Local deck design and build company DeckRemodelers.com of Sparta, NJ will be among those participating in construction of this project. Construction is scheduled to begin in early December. Local N.A.D.R.A. member volunteers will complete construction, and member vendors will provide the materials and products all free of charge to the recipient. A ribbon cutting ceremony and celebration will be held when the project is completed. N.A.D.R.A. Member Sean McAleer of DeckRemodelers.com will be sending crew of employees to join in the effort to complete the deck project.

Robert Guidi of Mine Hill, NJ has served our country in the Army. He enlisted in 1967 and was part of the 5th special forces in Vietnam in 1968 and 1969. He was awarded a Purple Heart after being wounded in 1968. Last year the existing deck at the Guidi residence was destroyed by hurricane Sandy.

The annual Deck For a Soldier® event was founded by the North American Deck and Railing Association N.A.D.R.A in 2007, and is a community effort that expresses appreciation for the service and dedication of the men and women of our armed forces.
